The Clerk of the Circuit Court is a constitutional officer elected by the voters of Spotsylvania for a term of eight years.įrom colonial days to the present time, the duties of the office have changed significantly, but the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court remains one of the most important constitutional offices in each county or city in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
